Personalized Exercise Plans
About Personalized Exercise Plans
The Personalized Exercise Plan or PEP is our training road map. Similar to an Individualized Education Program our PEPs ensure that each client receives an individualized and appropriate exercise program. The PEP is based on an initial fitness assessment, evaluation, and interview. Then we create realistic and measurable goals that we can track over the course of their training.
Every workout is backed by data to monitor progress and to uphold the highest level of consistency in every aspect of our training.
Our Personalized Exercise Programs have helped individuals with a wide range of abilities reach new heights in their fitness.
- Data tracked
- Time bound goals
- Mirrors the IEP process
- Monitors performance
- Reviewed through video analysis
What is PEP?
Your child’s progression in their exercise program is the ultimate goal. The Personalized Exercise Plan (PEP) is a tool used by our trainers to make sure your child reaches this goal. It is designed to mirror the IEP process utilized in special education.
Similar to other autism services, we use data to track and monitor performance. This data indicates when an athlete is progressing or regressing. Information that allows us to modify the programming to fit the needs of the individual.
The Personalized Exercise Plan begins with an assessment period lasting 2-4 sessions. The trainer will use this period to administer some assessments, evaluate current fitness levels, but most importantly build a positive relationship.
David Crowley founded Adaptive Exercise in 2017, to help children on the spectrum improve their health, become more independent, and social. Exercise has been documented to be therapeutic in all of these areas for people with ASD (2).
Adaptive Exercise uses applied behavior analysis teaching strategies, along with added supports to teach children on the spectrum how to exercise safely, yet effectively. Everything from the equipment used to the exercises are carefully selected with safety in mind.
This information is then used to build measurable, time bound goals to correct exercise movements, improve fitness levels, or achieve exercise independence. Over the course of their personal training these goals are periodically updated to make sure your child is constantly progressing.

The programming is centered around functional movement training. Movements that will benefit each athlete not just in the realm of fitness, but in their everyday lives. Whether they are reaching up high to get something from the cabinet, carrying a heavy backpack or walking up stairs. Functional movement training prepares the body for optimal performance in activities of daily living.
The American Council on Exercise (ACE) is the world’s largest nonprofit health and fitness organization. ACE is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). Personal trainers operating in accordance with the ACE standards, follow a comprehensive approach from assessments to training.
